The Old Cottage Weston Patrick Hampshire

The Sunday Times ‘Home’ section ran a feature this weekend on ‘Homes languishing on the market’ which included this delightful house for sale in Weston Patrick, Basingstoke Hampshire, see the article below.

Not sure why they couldn’t find the listing on Rightmove, as the property was listed back in September, with The Old Cottage on Rightmove and here is The Old Cottage on OnTheMarket with a virtual tour!

The issue of a lower ceiling in the kitchen has put off some buyers and the owners have been advised by ‘Home’ to get some plans drawn up for lowering the floor, to help any buyers who don’t expect low ceiling beams in a cottage. Hopefully the coverage in the Sunday Times will generate some interest. Contact selling agents Charters here

Property Focus - Soberton Hamshire

We came across this great looking chapel conversion that is on the market in Soberton Hampshire. The property is a 4 bedroom detached home that has been improved whilst retaining some lovely original features, including a wood burning stove, vaulted ceilings. There is a good sized garden too.

Welborne Development Fareham needs £30m boost

A CONTROVERSIAL new Hampshire housing development needs a £30m Government cash injection to go ahead, an MP says.

Suella Fernandes, the new Fareham MP, threw her weight behind the proposed 6,000-home Welborne development, earmarked for land north of Fareham.

It comes after the Daily Echo revealed the scheme has already cost more than £2 million.

Southampton's Royal Pier waterfront revamp plans unveiled

Plans to revamp Southampton's waterfront with a £450m development are to go on show.

The Royal Pier Waterfront development, includes 730 apartments, restaurants, up to 50 shops and a 250-bed hotel.

It will also incorporate a casino, which has been granted a licence by the government for up to 150 slot machines and 30 blackjack and poker tables.

If it goes ahead, construction could start on the first buildings in 2017 with the development completed by 2032.

The plans could see the park space at Mayflower Park made bigger with a Spitfire sculpture in the city where the plane was first built.

Property Hants has had some fun with social media leaderboards, including Mondion #MONDREAUK and Estate Agent Networking Service Provider #EAUK200 boards, and having had a look at what RISE has to offer. We have decided to try out a Top Hants Estate Agents Leaderboard, which we have now released at Propertyhants.co.uk/top-hants-agents.

The Top Hants Estate Agents leaderboard is most importantly for fun, it is scored on the basis 50% Klout score and extra points for tweeting #propertyhants or @propertyhants or retweeting our tweets.

Property Hants is still testing the metrics so there maybe some teething problems.

We release the board each Tuesday and intend to tweet the top 10 agents each week.

Rightmove School Checker

Rightmove have released a school checker facility on their property search website. This gives you the option to explore the likelihood of admission for a chosen property for either primary or secondary school.

You search for property in the usual way, and when you have found a home you are interested in you can click the tab 'School Checker' to find out more about primary or secondary schools in the vicinity of the home in Hampshire you are looking for. Give it go.
